On the catwalk, within the INNOVATIVE FUTURE PLATFORM selection, the following Fashion Departments will present group shows: University of Art and Design from Cluj-Napoca, National Art University from Bucharest, National Art University “George Enescu” from Iași, University of West from Timișoara.

At #RCW23, for the first time, the Design Faculty from Chișinău’s Technical University of Moldova, will be present.

INNOVATION, UPCYCLING, (DE)RECONSTRUCTION, VARIOUS MORPHOLOGIES, CULTURAL REFERENCES TO THE HISTORY OF COSTUME AND HISTORY OF FASHION – are elements which will be seen in the group collections of the invited Universities.

*The RCW team will communicate details about each group collection, before the fashion shows within #RFW23.

A discussion with representatives from all the 5 invited Universities, was organised online, through a video-call, in March 2023.

Lucian Broscățean – IF PLATFORM’s coordinator, who initiated this discussion, spoke about national and international project proposals that will be developed, soon, by the Federation of Employers of the Creative Industries (FEPIC), and the 5 Departments will be invited to participate. Such a context, will ensure new developments in the academic field, having the support of the fashion and creative industries.

Irina Schrotter emphasised the importance of making solid connections between the fashion teaching and the realities of the industry. Together the RCW team, she helps finding new innovative solutions for a healthy future of fashion. Ioana Ciolacu, IF PLATFORM’s creative consultant, continues to build bridges between the BA & MA Students and the industry.
