Romanian Creative Week (RCW), the most important event dedicated to the Romanian creative industries, which will take place in the capital of Moldova, from 19 to 28 May 2023, and the Romanian Order of Architects, Iasi Branch, announce the exhibition RETROSPECTIVE – Regional Architecture Exhibition Moldova 2015 – 2021 – R[ewind]A[ccess]M[emory] – Looking Back with New Perspective. The organizers are also launching a Call for videos dedicated to architects.

RETROSPECTIVE will inspire the public by showcasing the most creative Romanian architectural projects, which were awarded and nominated at the 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021 editions of the Regional Architecture Moldova in the sections: Residential architecture (individual and collective housing); Architecture of public buildings; Industrial architecture; Interior design; Restoration, rehabilitation, reconversion; Projects, Studies, Participatory architecture.

The exhibition aims to highlight the complexity of contemporary manifestations and expressions of architecture. In order to explore new fields, imposed by the social, economic, cultural context, to identify the directions of development of urban space, but also the implementation of new technologies and innovations in the built environment, RETROSPECTIVE invites us to look at the spaces already created and to analyze the sensory and human experiences generated.

The architecture exhibition will be set up on the first floor of the Palace of Culture in Iasi and will be open to the public during the Romanian Creative Week.


In addition to the panels with the printed projects – awarded and nominated at the previous editions of the Regional Architecture Week Moldova, RETROSPECTIVE will also include a multi-media component (audio, video), which will complement the exhibition and offer visitors a unique interactive experience.

In this regard, the organizers are inviting architecture offices whose projects have been awarded and nominated at previous editions of the Regional Architecture Moldova to submit a video presenting the sensory and human experience of the spaces generated by the design and construction process (e.g.: overview of the buildings/spaces, light and sound studies, testimonials of the beneficiaries or presentation of their own experience during the design process, etc.).

All video material submitted will be integrated into the design of the RETROSPECTIVE exhibition.
