Moraru Robert graduated from the Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs of the Fashion Department at the National University of Arts Bucharest. He experiments both in design and in styling, which give him the opportunity to build a personal aesthetic and a very clear vision of the industry and its dynamics.
His work as a designer has moved towards the sustainable side, having so far two collections that were made entirely through upcycling, participating in various competitions and events, such as: Diploma (2020) and BeCreative Fest, Sibiu. In the styling field, he carried out various personal and commercial projects in music videos, film costumes, personal styling, and editorials both in print and online for various publications such as: ELLE Romania, Beau Monde, Cosmopolitan.
His experience in this field has built in recent years this attraction towards the area of sustainable fashion, wanting to minimize the harmful effects of fashion on the environment, at the same time finding a pleasure and a challenge in resurrecting old pieces and using creativity to put in a new light and to give a new form to an item that already existed. Another objective for him as a designer is to show that upcycling fashion can take over various aesthetics and that there is not necessarily a unit in the group of sustainable clothing pieces.
