REDU

REDU is a creative workshop founded by Mai bine NGO in 2014 as a response to the emerging need of finding solutions for post- and pre-consumer textile waste. It now operates as a social enterprise, innovatively and creatively transforming textile waste into accesories and garments.

While the representative geometric shape used by REDU is the trapezoid, for this exhibition we decided to push the boundaries of our creativity, thinking beyond the usual shapes and embracing asymmetry and unconventional colour combinations. Through this artistic exploration, we aim to breathe new life into textile waste by incorporating it into a series of art objects, showcasing its untapped potential as a catalyst for creativity. In doing so, we hope to highlight how these textile scraps can serve as a means of artistic expression, demonstrating their value and significance in the context of sustainability and creative innovation in the Impatiens Tremens art exhibition.
